    Placoparia (Coplacoparia) sp. nov (Rábano et al., 2014) Fossil Trilobite in concrection. New species. Ordovician. Rahiat, Anti-Atlas Mountains, Morocco.

    To exigent collectors, from Rahiat new quarry (Rábano et al., 2014).

    Rahiat's quarry, near Alnif, was described a few years ago (Rábano et al., 2014 - DOI 10.3140//bull.geosci.1467) and it is an abundant place in new Trilobites and Echinoderms. You can see our pictures from the quarry, very similar to those of Rábano et al.'s paper. Our study of the quarry allowed us to find this one and some other species enumerated by Rábano et al. (2014), namely the undetermined Cheirurid (Eccoptochile? sp.), the rare Caudillaenus nicolasi gen. et sp. nov., Colpocoryphe sp. and the Echinoderm Moroccodiscus smithi (Reich et al., 2017 - doi.org/10.1017/jpa.2017.7 ) - see our other listings of Rahiat fauna.

    This is a similar species of other known Placoparia sp. species, but conspicuous differences and lack of studies sustain doubts among the specialists, even at the genus level. It is very probable that this will be described as a new species in a near future. This specimen is in perfect conservation status and inside the concretion where it has been found. Presented are both untouched parts of the concretion. All details of the specimen are perfectly enhanced and visible. A perfect display and collection specimen.

    Geological Period: Ordovician, from Paleozoic Era.
